Ep 4: The Company Gets Stumped

Mirkwood forest is full of peril, darkness, and something far worse...the unknown. 

The sprawling forest hides all kinds of creepy crawlers, as the group in The Party Business Podcast has already found out. But it also holds secrets that have long been thought lost. 

Sometimes all it takes is a little storm to push fate into action. 

The group has stumbled upon a small refuge from a storm that has caught them without shelter. There's little time to make any other decisions; the Company must find a safe place from the lightning and torrential rain. 

But at what cost? 

The hollowed-out stump they have found obviously has someone...or something...inside already living there. The real question is if it's friendly or not. It won't be long before they find out. 

And, worst of all, some of the group might be a little too...round...to make it into this shelter. Can they all survive the storm and their pride?

What's interesting about The Party Business Podcast so far is how much the cast has been able to avoid combat. 

Dungeons and Dragons feels much more combat-oriented and kinda weird if you don't fight for a long time. But The One Ring RPG has tools and mechanics for everything from meeting someone new to skirting around combat altogether. 

Which might be a good thing, actually–combat is always risky in The One Ring RPG. You are always a couple of wounds away from death, no matter how leveled up your character feels. So good luck if you dive headfirst into combat. 

And, admittedly, the cast does a fantastic job in The Party Business Podcast of making everything feel fun even if combat is avoided. It's usually just as crazy a tale if they make it out without a fight. 

But it's unlikely they can keep this up forever.
